Happy late Christmas!!
Been working on this for eight daysssss!! Lots of work put into this. It's difficult to do detail work on actual watercolor paper because of its tooth, so every detail had to be carefully painted over my pencil marks. My face was literally inches from the paper in every sitting. It payed off though. I must say this is one of my best pieces. Everything is watercolor, except the white center of the lights and the lines of light. That's it. Only thing in acrylic. Besides the lights... the background took me forever to get it saturated enough with purple, black, and blue.
The setting is a tree made of Christmas lights near a park on the outskirts of my town that many people take pictures underneath. I thought it would be cute to draw HitsuHina under the tree of lights, too. I didn't want to draw a cold snowy or warm fire picture; I felt those were too cliché.
I had a lot of fun and totally pushed some limits for me. I'm just absolutely overjoyed at the finished piece.
